Message My court date was last week.. Thanks to those who emailed with advice. I did a search here and found a couple posts. Nothing really helpful tho. So far my only advice is FIGHT IT!, there is no reason not to. Also, never plead guilty and ask for lienency. I did this once...as soon as they hear 'guilty' it is over. This ticket was for doing 50 in a 30. The ticket had a penalty of 6 points (ouch!) and $150 fine. So on to my case....

I had a few of things going for me.

-The speed limit sign was completely blocked. It was not a speed zone, just I had no idea of the actual speed limit.

-I only traveled .10 miles from the turn out. Armed with stats for an NA ;), I would some doubt of ability to reach 50MPH in that distance

-The officer wrote Gold as my car color

Onto the pics...

View of the road I turned onto... looks like a road that would be atleast 45MPH.. ---v

No photoshop... that is really how blocked the sign is.. ---v

hmmm I probly was going 50... ---v

This is where I was when I saw the lights fire up on the unmarked police car. ---v

NOT Gold :) ---v

When I arrived in court they asked me to enter a plea. I said not guilty of course. They offered me a failure to yeild (still points) and a fine of $75 without seeing any of the pictures. I told them that I was guilty of nothing and was prepared to prove it. Further, I knew of a problem with one of their signs that needed to be rectified immediately.. She asked to see the pictures. After this, she offered me a trial or a $50 parking ticket (0 points!). I took the ticket!
